Antiferromagnetic and Ferrimagnetic Meshes

Antiferromagnetic and ferrimagnetic meshes have been added in Boris, allowing computations using the 2-sublattice model. These meshes can be fully integrated into a multi-layered computation, including ferromagnetic and non-magnetic meshes. Thus exchange bias can be included, both on single ferromagnetic films, as well as exchange bias on synthetic antiferromagnetic structures.

These new meshes can also be used to study skyrmions, allowing spin torques to be included in the computations. As an example the image below shows a GdFeCo thin film with a stabilised ferrimagnetic skyrmion.

These meshes will be available in the upcoming v2.6.
